Minister of Economics of the Republic of Latvia and Deputy Prime Minister
Since February 2016, Arvils Ašeradens is the Minister of Economics of the Republic of Latvia and the Deputy Prime Minister. In his past he has been the Parliamentary Secretary of the Ministry of Finance and the Ministry of Welfare. Almost 20 years of his life he has spent working in media: as the director of the leading Latvian daily newspaper Diena, as Chairman of the Board of JSC Diena. He also has been the Chairman of the Board of the leading Latvian business newspaper Dienas bizness, worked as the Vice President of Latvian Press Publishers Association. In addition to this, Arvils has been the Board Member of World Association of Newspapers and News Publishers.
In 2007, the 5th Class Order of Three Stars was awarded to him.
